Getting the Christmas Tree
Well, this past weekend we went to get our xmas tree. Steven loved running in and out of all the trees. We got our biggest tree ever, it is about 8 or 9 feet. Steven loves it, and he does a pretty good job not going near it. Today we put up the ornaments, but he was not really into it. He did put a couple on the tree, but then he was done. Every year while decorating the tree, Scott and I put on the movie The Christmas Story and have it playing in the background. Well, Steven was laughing so hard at the movie. He was watching that instead of helping us with the tree. Every year, becomes more exciting watching Steven react to all the decorations and all the different traditions that we have put in place for our family. It is like seeing our tradtions for the first time every year, it is so exciting. Here are a few pictures to share with all of you.

Cookie Party
Last night I had a xmas party to go to and because we are having some major car problems, my wonderful friend Blanche said that she would pick me up for the party and her husband and kids would watch Steven. But, not only did they watch Steven,Steven slept over their house. It was weird not having him at home today, I was actually at home by myself and not having to listen to a monitor while I was sleeping, it was crazy. It allowed me to get a lot of work done this morning before Steven's big cookie party. Steven had a few of his friends here and they decorated snowman cookies. Then the kids got together and played while the mommies talked. Everyone played really nice and they all had a wonderful time. Tonight we are off to a birthday party and then tomorrow we are going to get our xmas tree. Wow, what a weekend!!

Busy Weekend
We started our day by giving Steven a bath, usually that is not a big deal, but I wasn't paying attention when I took off his diaper and didn't realize that he had stinky diaper. I just put him in the tub and we were playing with the bubbles and I put soap in his head and looked down and saw something floating in the tub, yup you guest it remnants from his diaper came floating by. We had soap in the hair, bubbles everywhere and I swooped him out of the tub so fast he didn't know what was happening. I had to wait for the water to come out clean the tub and then put him back in and rinse the water off. We got ready for church and then left. After church I put Steven down for a nap, even though he never fell asleep, and then went grocery shopping. When I got back from shopping Scott, Steven and I went to the mall to visit Santa. I wasn't sure how he would react, but he was in love with Santa, he kept staring at him and went right up to him, he even sat on his lap. If anyone remember last year, he screamed. He was listening to everything Santa was saying to him. After our Santa visit, we went to Macoroni grill for dinner, we ordered a appetizer of olives and rosemary bread. Steven loves olives and apparently he loves rosemary bread because he picked up the whole loaf and was eating it. People were walking by us and just laughing so hard. He ate almost the whole loaf, and of course didn't eat any of his dinner. I felt like such a bad parent letting him eat a loaf of bread, but he wasn't fussing and he actually ate something without spitting it out, oh yeah, that is is new thing at the dinner table. Taking a bite and then spitting it out. I have some more pictures to share of Santa and his bread eating. I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving and enjoy!!

Whistling Train...

On Thursday Scott picked Steven up from Ms. Cathy's and he was wearing a Indian hat and his Indian name wahs Whistling Train. How appropriate was that for him. Ms. Cathy is so clever. They also made a turkey handprint. He was so cute, it is now Saturday and Steven still has not taken his hat off. We wore it to the store today and even wore it over a friends house. I did get a picture of him wearing it, so I will post it. Hope you all have a great weekend.

New Words
Well,we have been waiting and waiting for Steven to talk. I guess I should be careful for what I wish for because this past weekend, Steven has been saying something and we are not sure what he is saying. It sounds like "brocoli", but it doesn't match the context to which he is in. So, today I asked Ms. Cathy to listen for this word and see if she knows what he is saying. I get an email from her during the day with an update on hid day and she said that he said a new word, but is sounded more like a swear word then brocoli. I was like oh no!! That will open up a whole new bag of worms. I am happy that he is saying more words and following more directions, but I guess I really need to work on which words he should be saying!!
This weekend was a pretty quiet weekend, we went to a craft fair on Saturday and then after nap time we went outside and raked the leaves. Well, I should say I raked the leaves and Steven jumped in them. He was having so much fun and loved every minute of it. At one time he tried to even ride his little bike through the leaves, it was so funny. He was laughing so hard, when I was putting the leaves on him. Sorry I have no pictures this time, maybe next time.

Happy Halloween
We had a great Halloween last week. Steven dressed up as a train conductor and it was the easiest costume, I didn't have to try to keep anything on his head or fight with a crazy costume, all it was was a pair of overalls a white turtle neck and a red bandana. Oh yeah, and his Thomas hat, which he loves to wear anyway. He was saying trick or treat all week, but when it came to the moment he became gun shy and never said it. But, he did take the peoples candy and sometimes he went back for seconds. It took him a few minutes to get use to the idea of trick or treating, but he figured it out real quick. He had a good time being out with mom and dad and going trick or treating. It was a really warm night and we actually were going out with t-shirts on and some people were going out with shorts on. It seemed weird having it be so warm out on Halloween. I am going to post some pictures of him trick or treating and in his costume. Take note that he is holding his toy bus, that he will not let out of his site. He even takes it upstairs for bed and naps, and puts it on his dresser and says "night-night" to it. It is so funny and cute.
